We booked this tour for Friday 15/04/22, which was a bank holiday therefore 2 out of the 4 wine estates were closed.
We were not told before end otherwise I would have cancelled or reschedule the visit in order to have the full experience I paid for.
De Grendel - we were quoted R90 however those prices were changed by the vineyard 2 years ago. At first they didn’t want us to go but see we’re willing and able to pay we ended up having a lovely experience.
Diemersdal Wine Estate - was closed due good Friday bank holiday. However that was not informed to us after we paid the tickets. Instead our guide to us Hill Crest Wine Estate which we did not enjoy the wine tasting experience- too relaxed, not information provided during the tasting.
Durbanville Hills - we didn’t like the experience. It was too informal, more like a place you would go for a drink rather than having a wine tasting experience.
Meerendal wine estate was also closed so our guide took us to the Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery.
Interesting experience and better that Hillcrest and Durbanville.
However it’s a place where people spend the day and drinks with friends rather than having a wine tour/ tasting experience.
Overall I was disappointed I we paid a lot of money for an experience that much the value of the promised tour.
